A Journey of International Cooperation to London, UK

From July 7th to 12th, 2016 the Chairman of the Orphans Future, Andriy Nazarenko attended the ninth annual event dedicated to the celebration of the Ukrainian holiday, Ivan Kupala in London. Andriy was invited by the partner charity organization Ukraine Charity and the trip was supported by friends of Orphans Future, Olia Dmytryk and her family, and Carlene Lois and Carl Ebneter.

A fundraiser on July 8th brought together hundreds of Ukrainians to enjoy a great time of fellowship together and at the same time raise funds to help disadvantaged children in Ukraine. The main attraction of the event was Andriy Luchanko, one of the finalists of the well-known talent show, "The Voice of the Country", who had been under the mentoring of Svyatoslav Vakarchuk famous singer of Ukraine. Andriy thrilled the audience with an accomplished performance of several songs, some with the accompaniment of young saxophonist, Denis.

Ukrainian guests were treated with traditional dishes of cabbage rolls, dumplings and pastries. While the guests savored their meals, the Ukraine Charity auction was held and there was enthusiastic bidding for items donated by famous artists, athletes and artists. The evening ended with traditional Ukrainian dances.

On July 11th, 2016 Andriy Nazarenko met with Danielle Bidos, a representative of the Global Fund for Children, UK. Over a cup of coffee, they discussed progress in the work of the two organizations and evaluated the strategies each oganization used to serve the needs of vulnerable children. They exchanged information which is important for the development of different projects of the Orphans Future organization.

In addition, Andriy Nazarenko met with the administration of the Ukrainian School of London in regard to their cooperation in assisting children living in state-run orphanage boarding schools of the Ternopil region.

Andriy Nazarenko is thankful to everyone who helped make possible his visit to London for the purpose of learning and improving stategies to help orphans in Ukraine as well as making new connections and exploring new avenues of financial support.
