Orphans Build Time Management Skills

On March 27–29, a socialization weekend took place at the Orphans Future foundation house for 12 teenagers from Berezhany and Ternopil. These three days became a space for hands-on practice and reflection on making adult decisions.

The main focus of the sessions was developing time management skills. Together with trainer Iryna Yaremchuk, participants explored what their daily routines look like in conditions of uncertainty and constant digital distractions. The teenagers learned to analyze where their time “disappears” and how to take it back under their own control.

Through practical exercises—“Wheel of Life,” “My Ideal Day and Week,” and “The Inner Slacker vs. the Inner Leader”—the boys and girls not only planned ahead but also took an honest look at their habits. A key emphasis was that in adult life, outside institutional care, no one is there to control or push you—making self-management a critical skill for successful independent living.

In addition to the training sessions, the teenagers strengthened essential life skills: planning menus, budgeting, shopping, and cooking meals. This provided valuable experience in responsibility and teamwork.

We sincerely thank Autport Café for the delicious lunches that gave participants energy after the sessions.

Some participants also had the opportunity to explore their creativity during a вокal and music workshop at Holos Music Studio with Ulyana—an inspiring emotional highlight of the program.

Special thanks to Volodymyr Yavorskyi for his dedicated support of the participants throughout all three days of the socialization weekend.

This weekend is another step toward helping teenagers not only dream about independent living, but start living it now.

Support the “On the Threshold of Independence” socialization program by making a donation to the Orphans Future foundation, with a note “for training for orphans.”
