These were two days of support, heartfelt conversations, and renewal for 14 foster parents.
A deeply touching surprise was the visit from foster parents from Kharkiv, who had temporarily lived in the Ternopil community because of the war, becoming part of our community, and have now been forced to return home. Warm hugs, sincere conversations, and the feeling that true connections do not disappear even across distance. Everyone received a gift and sweet treats from a Kharkiv confectionery.
Our trainer-psychologists Svitlana Lomovtseva and Iryna Hornitska once again created a safe space where everyone could speak openly, be heard, receive support, practical advice, and helpful tools for everyday challenges.
"Parents feel that they are not alone, that they are understood, and that their exhaustion, worries, doubts, and victories all matter — and that there are people beside them ready to support them," participants shared in their feedback.
Comfortable rooms, delicious three meals a day, and a warm atmosphere — the Orphans Future Foundation strives to create this opportunity once a month so that these incredible parents can, even for a short time, feel cared for themselves.
Because when parents become exhausted, children suffer. But when parents have the emotional strength and support they need, children receive more warmth, patience, and love.
We sincerely thank our donors who financially support the development of family-based care for children in Ukraine. Because of you, we can continue supporting those who change children’s lives every single day.
